The Administrative Assistant II position will provide office support to the health, mental health, nutrition, and wellness promotion services in the UCCS Wellness Center.

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is one of four campuses in the University of Colorado system and is home to over 10,500 undergraduate and 1,900 graduate students.

Job Duties:

  • Front desk, which will include greeting and checking patients/clients in and out, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and answering questions and directing people to the proper resources. 
  • Telehealth support including scheduling Telehealth and mental health appointments, assisting students with completing online forms and assisting providers as needed.
  • Collecting payments for services and preparing tickets in electronic medical record system. 
  • Balancing charges and revenue received with electronic medical records and superbills.
  • Scanning patient documents into electronic medical record system as well as assisting with file maintenance and purging of inactive charts.
  • Maintaining current list of office supplies and sending list of needed supplies to the office manager.
  • Processing medical record requests.
  • Assisting with processing of student immunization records to meet Colorado state requirements.
  • Cleaning of front office area, reception and waiting room areas to protect health and safety of students and staff.
  • Other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

For the purposes of FLSA, this position has been determined to be non-exempt from (eligible for) overtime under FLSA.

What We Offer:

Salary: Generally starting at $33,677/yr. to $34,068/yr.

Tentative Search Timeline:

    The potential date for interviews with the search committee will be the week of December 14, 2020. The potential dates for interviews with the spervisor and appointing authority will be the week of January 4, 2021. The potential employee start date is January 19, 2021.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

    Two (2) years of experience working in and administrative or support role in a medical office, counseling office, or K-12 school setting.
Substitution  

Completion of Medical Administrative Assistant or similar program that includes internship hours from an accredited college, university or non-correspondence trade school may substitute for experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with an electronic medical record system
  • Experience working in a college health settings
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements, and fine motor skills. Employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. The employee must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
