Clin Svc Representative IJob Description:
As a Genetic Counseling Assistant in our Hereditary Cancers program, you will work closely with the program’s Genetic Counselors and other related health professionals in support of identifying individual patient’s risk for certain cancers. In the execution of your duties, you will assist in the administration of the program and will support the clinical activities involved in the genetic testing process.
In your new role you will be responsible for the following:
Assisting program Genetic Counselors and the Sr. Genetic Counseling Assistant in the administration of the Hereditary Cancers program, including patient screening, scheduling, managing patient records and data, and other support activities;
Administration of the program’s Progeny database, ensuring accurate and timely record of genetic testing results, family histories, and other patient information;
Working closely with Genetic Counselors and other programmatic staff, you will also support the genetic testing process, including preparing patient records for scheduled appointments, working with and through relevant labs to process samples, guiding patients through the process, and other tasks related to the management and processing of genetic material samples.
This is an entry-level position, ideal for candidates interested in exploring a career in genetic counseling, healthcare, and/or clinical research. $15.00 per hour.Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications:
As an ideal candidate you will have/be:
A Bachelor’s degree with an interest in the health awareness, genetics and/or counseling.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience with Epic (or other electronic medical records systems) and/or Progeny (or other pedigree drawing applications).
Excellent customer service skills.
Desire to go the extra mile.
