Position Summary:

data cleaning, other miscellaneous research-related office duties. Winter den checks will include hiking arduous terrain using VHF telemetry to locate bear dens in 3 north Georgia WMAs to collect data on black bear fecundity. Camera trap data cleaning will include going through photos and videos, and saving only those that captured a black bear. Bear-dog data cleaning will involve looking at spatial GPS collar data, and delineating bear-dog chases from driving on WMA roads using GIS and other spatial programs.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:

Background in Wildlife Management and/or Ecology. Experience using VHF telemetry in a field setting.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :

Camera trap data, has experience setting camera traps, and has experience working with GIS.

Physical Demands:

Steep, off-trail terrain is prominent, driving.
