Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:In a cover letter, applicants must specifically address how they meet each of the following required qualifications.
• Demonstrated leadership experience working in a laboratory, machine shop, or similar setting
• Experience specifying, installing, and maintaining laboratory, machine shop, or similar equipment
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Word and Excel
• Ability to prioritize and manage work, including multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to perform basic math and statistical operations
• Ability to communicate with individuals from other departments or administrative units
• Prior experience using a variety of basic and advanced tools, including a CNC
• Prior reliable experience working in a university setting
• Prior experience assisting in the purchase of capital equipment
• High school graduate or equivalency
Responsible for maintaining inventory and storekeeping of supplies and equipment in science labs.
Job Duties:• Prepare and maintain documented standard laboratory operating procedures
• Manage the preparation, safe use, and clean-up of the laboratory associated with classroom and research activities
• Manage the order, receipt, storage and disposal of incoming and outgoing equipment, supplies, and raw materials
• Maintain an electronic inventory of all purchases, calibrations, repairs, and licenses for classroom and research equipment
• Specify, fabricate or purchase, specialized equipment, fixtures, or tools
• Oversee the coordinated use of laboratory facilities
• Other duties as assigned
