About This Position
The Department of Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting career opportunity for an Assistant Scientist. The Assistant Scientist is expected to study the physiological role of ATE1-mediated posttranslational arginylation in stress response and metabolism under the supervision of the principle investigator. The Assistant Scientist is also expected to be familiar with multiple test models including bacteria, yeast, and mammalian cells. Demonstrated experience in studies of posttranslational arginylation preferred. This position will train and supervise junior staff in scientific research as well as work with other researchers to use and develop end products, which include but not limited to the development of novel techniques related to the research of arginylation.
Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a basic science field of study; or M.D. At least one year of relevant experience; demonstrated experience in studies of posttranslational arginylation preferred. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
