About This Position
The John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG) at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work on the clinical and statistical aspects of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) as related to the Alzheimer’s Disease Follow-up Study (ADSP-FUS), and as as part of a multidisciplinary research team, led by Drs. Michael Cuccaro, Margaret Pericak-Vance, Jeffery M. Vance and Brian Kunkle. Our multidisciplinary HIHG Alzheimer disease research team is comprised of molecular geneticists, neurologists, psychologists, bioinformaticians, and statistical and genetic epidemiologists who work together on studies related to AD. The qualified candidate will work on research directed towards identifying and harmonizing multiple AD related phenotypes and their relevance to gene discovery and the mechanisms that they influence to increase the risk and outcomes associated with AD. The candidate will gain experience with ADRD phenotypes in diverse populations and statistical harmonization. This project offers a unique opportunity to participate in the Alzheimer’s Disease Genetics Consortium (ADGC), the ADSP, and the ADSP-Harmonization Consortium (ADSP-HC).
Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a basic science field of study. Prefer an individual with training in neuropsychology as applied to aging. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
