The Learning Specialist will provide assessment and instruction professionally, efficiently, and empathetically in academic reading, writing, studying, time management, and organizational skills for individual undergraduate, graduate, and professional students through regular appointments and drop-in sessions when needed.

TEMPORARY PART-TIME POSITION (through 6/30/2021)

Provide assessment and instruction professionally, efficiently, and empathetically in academic reading, writing, studying, time management, and organizational skills for individual undergraduate, graduate, and professional students through regular appointments and drop-in sessions when needed.

Maintain accurate and timely records of all interactions with students, following standard office procedures.

Plan, facilitate, and evaluate workshops for undergraduate, graduate, and professional groups of students on a variety of academic reading, writing, studying and time management topics. These may be topics within a specific series of workshops or special requests by faculty, staff, or students.

Create handouts and other materials for individual instruction, independent learning, and group workshops.

Participate in staff meetings and staff development programs. Meet with professional staff of other offices for program planning and evaluation.

Work on various projects related to improving services and programs and advancing the mission of the Weingarten Learning Resources Center.

M.S., Education or related field is desirable
