Job Description:

East Carolina University Department of Technology Systems is seeking a temporary data coder to assist with 1) reviewing video collected at sidewalks, roadways, and shared use paths and 2) recording counts, direction of travel, and group characteristics of bicyclists and pedestrians at the observed locations. The ultimate goal is to compare the counts captured in the videos to counts collected by sensors installed at the observed locations.

All training and supplies are provided. This is a time-limited position. The period of work is from November 2020 through January 2021. It is expected that this position will be 100% remote. Work assignments will be coordinated and delivered using Google Suite applications, including Google Drive, Documents, and Sheets.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.):

This position is open to undergraduate students with freshman, sophomore, or junior standing studying environmental science, social sciences, statistics, business, economics, engineering, technology, computer science, or a similar field with an interest in gaining skills and applied knowledge in data collection and analysis. The student must have access to reliable high-speed Internet connection.
