Infection Prevention Assistant

Responsible for assisting the Infection Prevention and Control department with data collection and associated tasks.
- Performs routine tasks under the guidance of the Infection Prevention and Control Department
Assists with data collection that supports Infection Prevention activities
Performs data entry into computer systems
Assists with environmental sampling
Assists with special projects in support of Infection Prevention activities
- Completes Hand Hygiene Observations
Performs direct observation of patient care and support staff to evaluate the completion of proper hand hygiene
Submits results of hand hygiene observation into computer systems
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Working knowledge of Microsoft system and basic computing skills. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
