Job Description Summary:

Clarkson University’s David D. Reh School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track position in economics with a sustainability focus to begin on or around July 1, 2021.

With this open-rank position, we seek to attract faculty candidates with solid training in economics of sustainability (focus areas can include environmental/ecological/resource economics, environmental justice and equity, sustainable development, etc.).

The candidate will teach courses that serve both the Reh School and the Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE) undergraduate and graduate curricula, and be actively involved in mentoring students and supervising graduate students’ research theses/projects (including Honors theses). The successful candidate will also serve an important role in the Master of Science in Environmental Policy and MS/PhD Environmental Science and Engineering degree programs as an advisor to students’ research and a member of the graduate committee.

Within the Reh School, the faculty member would contribute to the engagement-related aspects of the school’s mission, including service on school and university standing committees, service to the profession, and service contributions to the community and society. The candidate would also serve as ISE liaison or representative on the ISE executive committee, participating in collaborative, interdisciplinary research projects ranging from water quality, water resources, land use, climate, energy, and racial/gender equity & inclusion. These areas are essential to the University’s strategic research focus on sustainability, Healthy Global Solutions, and drive to foster diversity and create an inclusive learning environment.

This open position would attract a scholar, educator, and leader who would complement the University’s intellectual competencies in business and environmental sustainability in order to advance the academic enterprise and make a positive contribution to society.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants for the position must hold a Ph.D. in economics or a closely-related field by the time of the appointment, or be very close to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with a documented record of high-quality, impactful scholarship in economics of sustainability, and strong record of teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental economics and/or related courses and curriculum innovations will be given strong consideration.

Physical Demands:
