The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time physiatrist to provide comprehensive spine and musculoskeletal diagnosis and care. This physician will be expected to provide excellent non-interventional spine care to adults at the multidisciplinary UNC Spine Center. This physiatrist will work closely with physical therapists, other physiatrists, orthopedists, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists and other providers with an emphasis on bio-mechanical spine rehabilitation and integrative therapeutics. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and functional spine mechanics to accurately diagnose and facilitate the non-interventional recovery of patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders as well as general musculoskeletal joint dysfunction. This position will participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities associated with an academic appointment. Some inpatient call is required.Educational Requirements:
The successful candidate will be Board Eligible/Board Certified in PM&R.
MD or DO with NC medical license or willingness to obtain state license.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership abilities, a record of interdisciplinary collaboration, and have the desire to be involved in enhancing quality of patient care and participating in research studies.
