Position Summary:

The Department of Neurology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill is recruiting for the position of Adult Epilepsy Medical Director. This position will oversee and further develop the clinical epilepsy program of the EMU, Epilepsy Clinic and Epilepsy Surgery Program. A qualified applicant should be a board-certified Epileptologist or clinical neurophysiologist at Associate or Full Professor rank with administrative experience and a strong background in patient care, teaching and research. The person selected for this position will have significant experience in pharmacological, surgical and device therapies of epilepsy and will play a major role in clinical, research and educational programs related to epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. The Department of Neurology provides a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as vacation and educational time.
The successful candidate will join an established epilepsy team of 4 adult epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology faculty, 4 pediatric epilepsy faculty, neurosurgery, neuro-radiology, neuropsychology, and psychiatry faculty as well as dedicated APPs and social work. UNC Epilepsy program is an NAEC-accredited Level 4 epilepsy center with a strong history in providing cutting edge pharmacological, device and surgical therapies in epilepsy. UNC has a robust clinical research unit, basic neuroscience and imaging research facilities and the program includes an ACGME accredited epilepsy fellowship with 2 fellows per year. Educational Requirements:

MD or equivalent required. Board-certified Epileptologist or clinical neurophysiologist. Applicants must be eligible for North Carolina licensure.

Qualifications and Experience:
