Ensures the College of Engineering is achieving their operational goals while upholding compliance of applicable laws, regulations, or university policies.

Serves as a member of the College of Engineering Dean's management team representing the College on joint committees for both FAMU and FSU. Participates in strategic planning, analysis and financial planning for the College. Develops long-term financial forecasts. Serves as the liaison between the College of Engineering and other university areas, including Budget, Procurement, Controller, Contract & Grants, Foundation, and Human Resources offices within both institutions (FAMU and FSU). Serves as the financial point of contact on behalf of the College for annual audits and national accreditation reporting.

Serves as the Budget Account Manager approving all financial transactions for the College and related initiatives. Develops, compiles and reports on financial data requested by the State, the University Controller, Budget Office, and the College of Engineering. Implements policies and procedures to ensure adherence to the university, college, federal, state, ensuring generally accepted accounting principles and business practices are applied in an environment of sound internal controls to ensure compliance. Reviews and approves monthly reconciliations prepared by departmental accountants, reviewing all transactions, and ensuring appropriate funding sources are utilized. Responsible for preparing and presenting quarterly financial reports for the Joint Management Council.

Coordinates and manages the recruitment, hiring, training and evaluation of all assigned UBA staff and assigned College of Engineering Dean's Office staff. Provides back up financial assistance to any College of Engineering Center, including the Challenger Learning Center, HPMI, Ryder and AME/FCAAP.

Assists with the compliance, oversight and delivery of student scholarship funds for the College of Engineering.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and four years' experience or high school diploma and eight year's experience.
(Note: or a post high school education and experience equal to eight years)

Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

Experience demonstrating critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others' input personal values, and ethics.

Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Experience compiling, reviewing, and reconciling data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

Knowledge of the concept, principles and practices of management.

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal control systems.

Experience preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.

Experience working with Microsoft Office, and other applicable computer applications with advanced skills in Excel.Anticipated Salary Range Commensurate with education and experience.Pay Plan This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.Schedule If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
