Description

The College of Arts and Sciences Faculty Review Services (FRS) scope of operations has expanded exponentially in the last couple of years as a result of changes in the college’s associate deans’ structure, reduced administrative support in the departments, and changes in faculty annual reporting and review, particularly the shift to digital dossier submission and review. We anticipate that more faculty review services administrative support will need to be provided from the Dean’s Office as the overall college finance and administrative organization changes.

As a result, we are hiring a full-time Administrative Coordinator to support the Faculty Review Services Coordinator. This person provides support to individual faculty, departments, and college level area review committees as they needed access to secure databases, Digital Measures, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. This person also provides limited training on various digital platforms as needed. This position acts as a liaison between departments, the Faculty Review Services Coordinator, and the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, disseminating information concerning the preparation of review dossiers; updates concerning faculty review policies and procedures; and the development of targeted chair, area committee, and faculty information sessions. In addition, the position provides ongoing clerical and record management support as required to keep the College of Arts and Sciences in compliance with USG and GSU faculty review policies and processes.

The Administrative Coordinator will report to the Faculty Review Services Coordinator, under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs.  The scope of responsibility will include these specific duties but is not limited to the following,

  • Faculty records development and management; update of templates as needed.
  • Faculty review support, including development of resources to support department, college, and university level reviews as needed. This includes offering support to college area committees and developing training sessions as needed.
  • Communication with faculty members, department chairs, area committees, the Faculty Review Services Coordinator, and the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs as needed to facilitate required faculty review.
  • General faculty affairs team support, including ongoing clerical and record management support.

QualificationsBachelor's degree and one year administrative experience; or high school diploma or GED and five years administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
