Advertised Job Summary:Under general supervision, designs, develops, installs, documents, and modifies systems and software for complex audio/visual systems in learning and administrative environments. Performs system analysis, configuration, and maintains systems for optimum operating efficiency. Provides technical guidance and leadership to DoIT staff and clients. Serves as Engineer-in-Charge during system implementation and provides senior technical support and troubleshooting assistance to service technicians.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Systems or related field and 4 years experience in computer systems development and modifications; or equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications:Avixa Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)
Crestron Digital Media Certified – Technician 4K (DMC-T 4K)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Extensive knowledge of audio/visual systems, computing hardware, software, network, and communication systems. Ability to learn University information. Knowledge of methods of system analysis for determining equipment configurations. Knowledge of software testing and debugging. Ability to establish working relationships with vendors, staff members and users. Must have strong communications skills and the ability to work with a team. Basic to moderately complex knowledge of capabilities, and intricacies of systems and applications. General understanding of, or experience with one or more of these areas of expertise: Computer networking; Structured cabling, grounding, equipment rack fabrications, termination, and calibration of audio video equipment; Soldering and mechanical terminations. Reading and understanding assigned project documentation and determine if additional information is required. Ability to inform the Project Manager of any problems and concerns with assigned projects; maintain updated as-built drawings and documentation for assigned projects, maintaining accurate inventory of parts and responsible for reporting daily time and activity to the Project Manager.
