The department of Cancer Clinic Services seeks a Social Worker Senior to provide psychosocial oncology services to Markey Cancer Center ambulatory clinic patients and families. Facilitate education to patients and families regarding emotional and practical problems, services and support.
Will provide direct counseling and brief therapeutic interventions to patients and families. Assess, develop and refer to internal and external oncology and community resources. Assist with any potential barriers to treatment including medications, suicide assessment, end of life care discussions, financial and insurance assistance, education and referrals.
Respond to Markey Cancer Center distress screening as per protocol, perform distress screening contacts either in person or by telephone and provide education regarding available resources. Document all patient interactions accordingly.
Communicate with MCC staff to assist patients and families with need and follow patients through continuum of care. Participate in research and analysis of data as appropriate; provide education on appropriateness and availability of goods and services to benefit patients, families and enterprise.
Multi-tasking, knowledge of community resources, ability to work independently and as part of a team, efficient time management skills, flexibility, experience working in a patient centered environmentDoes this position have supervisory responsibilities? :
