The department of pharmacy is seeking a dependable, full-time, self-motivated, experienced Medical Billing Specialist for a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) business. Prior experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing and companies is required and knowledge of DME billing systems is a plus. This position will be responsible for intake information for referrals, maintaining patient records, CMN preparation, benefits investigations for new patients and re-verification for current patients, and additional administrative tasks as assigned. The successful individual in this role will be organized, have excellent attention to detail, the ability to evaluate options and make decisions efficiently, and dedication to quality patient care.Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Computer/Microsoft Office Suite; strong customer service skills; and excellent organizational and time management skills.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :
• The ideal candidate will have medical office or billing experience, experience with insurance verification, and/or familiarity with DME equipment and DME patient management software.
• Experience interpreting/processing explanation of benefits (EOB) and insurance denials, ability to resolve past due claims, and knowledge of insurance payer specific prior authorization requirements is preferred.
