Regular Full-time, Pay Grade 36
To install, operate andmaintain the electrical systems and equipment for the UT Knoxville campus. Tomaintain electrical system to all campus properties. To work as necessary toprovide assistance to contractors and other crafts. As Sr Electrician, to beresponsible for the continuity of all projects. To inspect equipment on aregular basis in order to maintain the safety of students, staff, the generalpublic and others who come in contact with these facilities. To provide supportfor specialist events and to assist the foreman and fill in during his absence.To mentor other employees and train them as necessary.

Extensive knowledge of theNational Electric Code safe work practices and safety guidelines; Ability tointerpret drawings and electrical schematics; Ability to develop materialordering take off lists; Ability to interpret and apply fundamentals of theNational Electric Code in electrical systems work efforts; Ability to superviseelectrical craft in the performance of their duties. Ability to carry out jobduties and responsibilities independently.



Qualifications
Minimum/Required Qualifications: Valid Tennessee Driver’s License; High School Education
Applicant should have at least 6 years of equivalent field experience in electrical systems. Education may be substituted for field experience on a year-for-year basis if education is related to electrical systems.
Applicant should have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematic drawings.  Also, applicant should have extensive knowledge of safe work practices and regulations.  Applicant needs the ability to supervise electricians and/or craft assistants.  Also, should have the ability to perform moderately strenuous work activities.
