The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

This IT Administrator III position will function within the Haslam College of Business’ (HCB) Office of Technology Integration Services (TIS). This position’s primary responsibility is to safeguard the College's computer networks, data, and systems by planning and carrying out security measures to monitor and protect sensitive data and systems from infiltration and cyber-attacks. The incumbent develops and updates information security plans and policies, establishes best practices for security monitoring and procedures, implements protections, tests for vulnerabilities and monitors/investigates security breaches. This position also manages the College's Active Directory procedures and its server systems.

•Facilitates the development and implementation of appropriate security configurations, policies, processes and procedures. Contributes to the ongoing collection, development, review, and adoption of architecture and development standards and standard methodologies. Develops and delivers Information Technology standards, best practices, architecture and systems to ensure information system security across the college system. Implements procedures and methods for auditing and addressing non-compliance to information security standards. Continuously monitors and updates the Haslam College of Business (HCB) IT Security Plan and the HCB IT Security Program Plan and recommends enhancements to include developing supplemental security plans and systems and recommending related policy. Supplemental plans may consist of but are not limited to the HCB Contingency of Operations Plan (COOP), the Haslam Business Building Emergency Action Plan (BEAP) and the Stokely Management Center BEAP.
•Continuously monitors current and new College IT systems for security compliance to include implementing protections, testing for vulnerabilities, monitoring for real or potential security breaches, investigating breaches, and providing secondary support for OIT security breach team. This requires the constant enhancement of expertise in emerging IT technologies. Provides advice and reporting to management team on the effects of various current and proposed security engineering and operational performance.
•Manages Active Directory (AD) functions for College and recommends changes, enhancements, and revisions for procedure and policy. Works closely with OIT to ensure College AD functions seamlessly integrate with University AD policies and procedures.
•Manage College server systems both on premises and in the OIT Data Center via Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and recommend the most secure and efficient methodologies for both implementation and support. This includes researching and analyzing research computing needs against all available University support resources, to include the OIT Data Center and the UTK Joint Institute for Computational Science (JICS) and recommending the best solutions.
•Collect, prepare, and disseminate IT security related information regularly to the College's faculty and staff via periodic training sessions, informational white papers, and emails. Monitor College compliance with OIT security programs such as Two-Factor Authentication, encryption requirements and techniques, and security awareness through multiple means to include vulnerability and penetration testing.

•Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred
•Minimum five years experience working in the information security field and/or teaching information security system management and procedures
•Minimum certification as a CISA
•Minimum three years managing system change management in an IT environment.
•Minimum three years managing Active Directory (AD) system rights/permissions in an IT environment
•Demonstrated personnel supervision
•Knowledge of team management software programs such as Microsoft Teams, etc.
•Ability to learn new duties and systems as required
•Ability to provide good customer service.
•Ability to manage change
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
