Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Maryville University (St. Louis) has an opening at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. This opening requires a specialty and expertise in augmentative-alternative communication (AAC) systems. Primary responsibilities include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, providing clinical supervision, mentoring students in research projects, and providing service to the department and University. Preferably, this position will begin in January 2021. Consideration will be given to candidates who could start the 2021-22 school year.

The department is housed in our state-of-the-art facility and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA). Candidates need to possess the CCC-SLP and qualify for a Missouri SLP license. Candidates must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students.

Minimum Qualifications

• Candidates must hold either a PhD or EdD in speech-language pathology or related field (ABD applicants will be considered)
• CCC-SLP certification
• Eligible for Missouri licensure

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in the following areas will be preferred (but other areas will be considered): AAC, child language disorders, neurogenics, voice and fluency.
