Education Program Manager—WellMD & WellPhD Center🔍School of Medicine, Stanford, California, United StatesNew📁Administration📅2 days ago Post Date📅87787 Requisition #The Stanford Medicine WellMD & WellPhD Center seeks a pioneering and experienced program manager (Administrative Services Administrator 2), to lead the planning and operations for WellMD & WellPhD’s portfolio of educational programs, which include courses, conferences and learning communities drawing leaders from across the country and world. The WellMD & WellPhD Center is an innovative and internationally-recognized program with a mission to advance the well-being of physicians and those they serve, as well as of biomedical scientist and the beneficiaries of their contributions.

This program manager, reporting to the Center’s Executive Director, will work alongside Stanford faculty and WellMD & WellPhD leadership to create and implement unparalleled learning experiences for leaders at premier healthcare provider organizations across the country. This is an exciting opportunity to work with expert faculty as the administrative lead and be on the forefront of equipping leaders to increase professional fulfillment and mitigate burnout in physicians and biomedical scientists.

The program manager will be instrumental in further developing the Center’s portfolio of educational offerings, while maintaining our role as the vanguard in equipping Chief Wellness Officers around the world. This role will provide comprehensive program management for educational courses targeting well-being leaders beyond Stanford, complex high-quality conferences working in collaboration with strategic partners, and courses and workshops to serve the Stanford Medicine community.

Key Stanford WellMD & WellPhD Courses and Conferences:

    Chief Wellness Officer Course—oversee the Center’s marque learning experience and most complex, externally-facing course, drawing executive leaders around the globe for a one-week immersion course.Physician Well-being Director Course—launch and manage this new course which equips physician well-being leaders with responsibilities for a department, unit or smaller organizations.American Conference on Physician Health (ACPH)—serve as the Stanford administrative lead for this 3-day conference, which is jointly hosted by Stanford Medicine, the American Medical Association, and Mayo Clinic.Additional courses and workshops offered only to Stanford Medicine physicians and scientists.Other courses, conferences, and learning communities as created and assigned.

Specific duties include comprehensive program management for portfolio of educational programs:

  • Partner with course directors and the Stanford Office of Continuing Medical Education throughout course development and execution, including developing the objectives, content, exercises, pre- and post-course materials, and evaluations to create a unique and impactful learning experience.
  • Assist with and track faculty recruitment,
  • Manage timelines, communication and logistics for successful execution of programs.
  • Oversee marketing, recruitment and registration strategy.
  • Develop course application, review applications, and recommend qualified applicants.
  • Develop budget for each course and manage programs and budget to meet financial goals.
  • Contract with and oversee vendors, when applicable.
  • Develop, launch, and support learning communities for course alumni.
  • Evaluate course components and outcomes and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Consult with manager on high-level plans and practices to be consistent with the strategy, priorities, and norms of the WellMD & WellPhD Center.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years of experience managing continuing medical education programs for physicians or overseeing administrative programs at an academic medical center.
  • Skilled and experienced in collaborating with physicians and faculty.
  • Successful track record of:
  • managing complex programs spanning 12+ months
  • navigating healthcare organizations
  • cultivating physician communities for ongoing collaboration and/or learning
  • deploying and maintaining collaboration software to support a community
  • managing vendors and contracts
  • Experience in physician well-being or interest in developing expertise.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Understanding of program evaluation.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset; comfort with change, ambiguity, and institutional evolution in a fast-paced environment.
  • A high degree of social facility in obtaining cooperation and support from a broad range of faculty, staff and individuals at all levels both within and outside the institution.
  • Graduate degree.
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

    • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

    • Program management experience involving physicians, scientists or healthcare organizations.
    • Successful track record of:
    • launching innovative programs or enhancing existing programs
    • developing systems and infrastructure to support programs or projects
    • managing program budgets and meeting budget goals
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects with accountability for goals and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated excellent planning and organizational skills, including establishing priorities, managing complex projects, and meeting deadlines, while managing multiple complex and concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated creativity, problem solving, and critical analysis skills.
  • Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions and in interacting with constituencies (internal and external).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a variety of key stakeholders, through multiple channels.
  • Keen attention to details; commitment to the accuracy and integrity of all data, reports and communications.
  • Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels, with diplomacy and tact.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and to excel in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment. Must be a team player and willing to take on additional challenges, if needed.
  • Strong relevant subject matter knowledge.
  • Adept at engaging physicians and senior leaders.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency (Mac/PC).
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

    • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
    • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
    • Occasionally use a telephone.
    • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
