Job Description

A qualified Research Scientist (RS) is needed to provide research support and graduate student managment support in the Mizzou Asphalt Pavement and Innovation Laboratory (MAPIL) and the Missouri Center for Transportation Innovation (MCTI). The RS will conduct experiments, field work, analysis, modeling, and technical writing in response to research tasks proposed by the main sponsoring entity, Asphalt Plus, LLC, and its partners, and will provide general research and admistrative support to the MAPIL lab and MCTI center. The RS may also help develop teaching modules for courses related to asphalt mix and pavement design.


PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering or related field by the time of appointment.

Candidates will be evaluated on their expertise in pavements, civil infrastructure materials, and sustainable infrastructure. Research experience with recycled materials, and especially ground tire rubber modifiers for asphalt are preferred.
