The University of Virginia, Department of Medicine, Infectious Disease and International Health is seeking a Research Associate to assist in the laboratory of Dr. Rebecca Dillingham.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills (as evidenced by ability to work in a team, mentor students, supervise technicians), organizational skills (as evidenced by ability to self- motivate, plan in advance and adhere to deadlines), and excellent oral and written communication skills (as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, grant applications, presentations).
Candidate must have demonstrated ability to: work independently, mentor students, design and carry out experiments, critically evaluate and analyze data using appropriate statistical tests, write research papers and reviews, identify and apply for grant funding opportunities, and present work orally at conferences.
Candidates must have a DrPH or PhD in Epidemiology or Public Health, in near completion or in hand, by position start date.
This position is restricted and contingent upon continued funding.
