Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the following position: Project Assistant (Temporary Position) in the Center for Global Engagement.
Serving as a part of a dynamic team supporting campus internationalization initiatives and a growing array of education abroad programs, the International Project Assistant will assist with student case management for those interested in Education Abroad programs and for faculty travel with students programs, including support with online systems, student advising, and administrative support; ensure effective, accurate, and timely administrative processing activities for the Center for Global Engagement to include insurance processing, office support and archiving, accounts payable, legal, procurement, and outside vendor reporting; oversee project management processes for events and development supplemental materials to support programming within the Center for Global Engagement to include marketing, instructional, and support materials; support the timely and accurate processing of education abroad scholarships in cooperation with campus units and external review bodies for those managed through the Center for Global Engagement; and provide effective visitor support and engagement.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Experience living, working, or studying abroad. At least two years of working experience with international students or in education abroad. Excellent written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills. At least two years of experience developing and/or managing projects or programs. Preferred Qualifications include: Master’s degree; At least two years of working in overseeing or coordinating education abroad programs, working with diverse groups of students, experience and certification (such as TESOL or TEFL or Professional Certification in Education Abroad); Experience working with diverse groups of student populations.
A successful candidate will also possess excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to maintain a high level of organization and must prioritize scheduling of activities and programs within the department; the ability to work well with the students, administration and faculty; the ability to understand and implement the University and State policies using discretionary judgment; the capacity to maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling student information; and a high level of intercultural awareness to manage effectively complex discussions.
