Job Title:       Student Financial Services Coordinator     

Reports To:    Director of Student Accounts

Status:            Non-Exempt  


General Description

As a primary point of contact for the Student Financial Services Office, the Student Financial Services Coordinator assists with inquires relating to Student Account billing and Financial Aid, while providing clerical support and excellent customer service.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Greet and assist students, parents/guardians, and visitors in a positive mannerReview and assign in-office, email, and phone inquiries to the appropriate staff members Work with fellow staff members to ensure effective and timely resolution of student inquiriesAccept and process cash and check payments, prepare daily bank deposits, and perform other cashier functions as requiredIdentify and notify students of incomplete financial aid documentationEnsure collected documentation is complete/accurate and forward it to the appropriate staff member for filing Document relevant discussions or Student Account forms in the Jenzabar notepadEnsure that students properly complete their Financial Services ContractCorrespond with students regarding their financial obligation to the college as well as college policies/proceduresBecome proficient in the use of college’s operating systems: Jenzabar, PowerFAIDS, SLATE CashNET, and CBORDCorrespond with our collection agencies, manage existing collection agency placements, and identify uncollected debts for future assignmentAudit HEOP population to ensure aid is disbursed appropriatelyPerform other duties as assigned 


  • High School/GED Diploma, some College preferred
  • Experience with general office software, including spreadsheet and databases
  • Excellent employment record, including attendance and job performance
  • Experience with cashier functions and/or bookkeeping preferred
  • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to organize and prioritize duties while completing them in a timely manner
  • Ability to be self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum 2-years customer service/clerical experience
  • Jenzabar experience is a plus
