Position Summary

The Research Technologist I will play a pivotal role in many aspects of the study and in general lab management, including maintaining ethical protocols, recruiting and scheduling participants, collecting, organizing, and analyzing study data. The individual will also have the opportunity to prepare scientific results for publication and presentation. There will be ample opportunity to learn novel methods in functional neuroimaging, vision science, and clinical science; accordingly, this position should be viewed as a stepping stone toward gaining entry into graduate or professional school. Individuals interested in the biological basis of mental disorders, neuropsychology and/or neuroscience, and neuroimaging are especially encouraged to apply.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in psychology, neuroscience or other related field; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in basic research techniques in psychology, neuroscience, or related field; word processing, spreadsheet; database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in a clinical research setting is highly desirable

Experience using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), RedCap, and MATLAB is strongly preferred

High level of interpersonal skills, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possible extension contingent upon funding renewal.
