$14.65 hr/F2Job Summary:
Performs a variety of mechanical tasks related to performing preventative maintenance/general maintenance on university building systems. The hours for this position are four 10 hours shifts, Sunday through Wednesday, 3:30 pm to 1:30 am.Duties/Physical Demands:
Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; provides feedback to the supervisor on the effectiveness preventive maintenance procedures and material quantities required to perform the job.
Performs filter changes on air handling units, fan coil units and other HVAC equipment. Cleans coils on HVAC equipment. Replace belts and adjusts belt tension on equipment.. Changes oil and belts on air compressors. Aligns pumps and changes couplings. Performs testing, measurements and inspections on a variety of University systems and equipment. Greases bearings on pumps and motors. Exercise various valves across campus.
Serves as informational resource to staff.
Completes work in accordance with a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
Cleans and maintains tools and equipment.
May assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special events.
Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requires driver's license.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of carpentry, electricity, and plumbing repair and maintenance
Knowledge of mechanical repair
Ability to read schematics
Continuous standing or walking, frequent climbing, and lifting of materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Some exposure to several unpleasant elements which are particularly disagreeable.Special Instructions to Applicants:
