Temporary Research Technician
TemporaryEssential Job Duties:
The primary responsibility of this position is to help investigate possible host resistance to the hemlock woolly adelgid and propagate trees of interest and offspring for
screening. Duties will include site visits to potentially resistant trees, collection and
propagation of cuttings, cone collection and processing, seed germination and
propagation, and assistance with screening. The position will document site visits,
collections, and propagation information.

-Three years undergraduate coursework in natural resources, forestry, ecology, horticulture, or a related fieldDepartment Required Skills:
-Ability to traverse rugged terrain under adverse
-Experience propagating hemlocks from
seed and vegetatively from cuttings
-Experience with ESRI ArcMap GIS software and management of spatial data
-Experience with record keeping of plant provenance
