UTS- Temporary Project Coordinator at UNC Chapel Hill
TemporaryEssential Job Duties:
The candidate will be the project coordinator and primary contact for studies entering the HTSF facility. The responsibility of the individual to assist with the drop off check in process, field phone calls and emails and answer issues or direct them to a better resource within the unit. This will require to work closely with all lab managers and leadership. The candidate will review material submitted and processed and deliver the result to the study for approve to continue processing. They will additionally send notifications for project status updates, review and approve submission, generated quotes, pulling reports as need by staff and studies and make submission processing updates in the databases (Tracseq and LIMS). A portion of time will be spent assisting the Tracseq IT staff to improve the customer interaction with the submission website. Including the addition of new features as new technologies and services are introduced by the unit..
A part of study coordination, the candidate will maintain the storage system for all materials entering. The unit has thousands of samples it needs to train accurately in it’s freezer storage system. Samples are expensive to generate but can be irreplaceable and need to be care for properly. It will be their responsibility to maintain the freezer storage system’s accuracy, pull biannual reports to post check accuracy, and to return all samples 2+years to the study’s PI. This all is tracked n the processing databases system, LIMS.
The candidate will act as workshop and seminar coordinator. One of the goals of the unit is training and education. This staff member will coordinate with staff and non UNC vendors to publicize educational events, schedule catering and reserve rooms for sponsored events. Duties will also include updating the website to include event information, updates to include new technologies for review by the users. As the key study contact, they will send all email blasts about training events, workshops, seminars, updates for new services or key updates for the users, PIs, departmental heads.
