Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook.

College/Department Overview

The College of Business has 76 full-time faculty and 40 part-time faculty in 6 academic departments; Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems & Operations Management, Management, and Marketing. The College currently offers 13 undergraduate majors serving more than 2,500 students, and 2 graduate programs serving more than 100 students combined. The faculty and staff of the College are committed to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in support of our efforts to prepare students to become productive, ethical, and engaged citizens and business leaders, while promoting commerce and advancing the quality of life in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Department Specific Essential Job Functions

Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching and a willingness to serve the UCO and Greater Edmond and Oklahoma City communities.

Candidates will be expected to teach courses both face-to-face and online within the field of organizational behavior and/or subfields of Management using a transformative approach at both the graduate and undergraduate, and to participate in department and school-related service activities. The ability to teach courses in problem solving and leadership is desirable. This position’s teaching is primarily focused on our Downtown and Online MBA. However, faculty will be expected to be versatile and teach where needed.

The Department of Management currently houses 14 full-time faculty members, and offers undergraduate majors in Management, Human Resource Management, and PGA Golf Management. UCO’s HRM Program is one of the nationally recognized programs aligning with the Society for Human Resource Management’s curriculum guidelines.

An entrepreneurship minor has demonstrated success in multiple business plan competitions.

  • Qualifications Qualifications/Experience Required

    Teaching, research, departmental/school and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE** If the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will be as an Instructor.

    Qualifications/Experience Preferred

    Applicants with a PhD or ABD (all but dissertation) in Management or equivalent with major emphasis in organizational behavior from an AACSB school. Evidence of effective teaching face-to-face and online in a higher education environment. Evidence of a strong research pipeline in the field of organizational behavior that shows potential for collaboration within the college. Candidates academic or professional experience must be consistent with the college's faculty qualifications policy.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    Excellence in teaching.

    Previous both face-to-face and online teaching experience in higher education environment at the level of teaching assistant or higher is required. Evidence of a strong research accomplishments and agenda are required.
