The University of Virginia's Health System has an opportunity for an Electronic Door Supervisor to join our team in our Health System Physical Plant. This is a working supervisor, who must have demonstrated supervisory experience, including assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others. In addition, this position requires a strong understanding of NFPA 80 & 105 and the ability to read and understand building & life safety drawings, schematics, block diagrams, service manuals, and wiring diagrams. Must have strong communication and customer service skills.

Duties Include:

  • Review and track progress of work orders

  • Review construction and renovation documents for compliance

  • Ensure that mechanical, electrical, and electronic components and equipment are installed according to manufacturer specifications

  • Perform circuit analysis as part of testing and calibrates equipment according to specified standards, including monitoring doors for fire rating and code requirements for opening/closing speed and pressure.

  • Order, stock, remove and replace electronic and related equipment.

  • Conduct inspections, maintain logs, and report areas of concern that would result in system shutdown.

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of four years' experience with automatic door installation and repair. Experience working on electronic door systems such as Dorma, Horton, and Stanley, as well as experience working on LCN operators & electronic door hardware such as Von Duprin & Corbin Russwin. A minimum of two years of experience leading teams

Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Licensure: Current Electronic certification or Electronic door certification (AAADM). Valid Virginia State Driver’s license

Position Compensation Range: $28.84/hour - $31.25/hour
