Description:

The REYSE Collaboratory at Clemson University for the Study of Race, Ethnicity, Youth, and Social Equity (www.clemson.edu/reysecollaboratory) is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position to support ongoing research projects for faculty within the program. The faculty members within the Clemson Collaboratory take an interdisciplinary approach to the positive development of racial and ethnic youth across diverse settings, including afterschool programs, camps, and juvenile justice interventions. The postdoctoral scholar will be expected to conduct independent research  but also contribute to current faculty efforts under the direction of Dr. Corliss Outley. The postdoctoral fellow will assist with a variety of projects working with local, national, and international youth-serving programs and partners. The position is located within the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management at Clemson University and the initial appointment is for 1 year, with an option to renew on year 2. Compensation is competitive and includes comprehensive benefits (i.e., medical, dental, vision, disability).


Qualifications:

A successful candidate must have: (a) a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in psychology, education, leisure sciences, child and family studies, or a related field, ideally with a focus on positive youth development, (b) strong knowledge of research methods, qualitative data analysis, and quantitative data analysis, (c) experience with publishing data, and (d) strong collaboration and organizational skills.

Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience conducting applied research in youth settings, particularly focused on racial and ethnic youth identity, social justice, culturally responsive measures, and/or experience with applying cultural diversity and social justice strategies in real world program settings.
