Position Highlights:

The Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering and Mechanics invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to co-teach the course CE 423 Hydrology (approximately 1/3 of the total class). Discussion and analysis of major topics of the hydrologic cycle and their interrelationship, such as rainfall, infiltration, evaporation, and runoff. Statistical and probabilistic methods in water supply and flood hydrology. The ideal candidate will bring synergistic expertise associated with precipitation processes.

Classes begin January 13th and run through May 6th with final examinations the week of May 7-13th.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Duties and responsibilities include three hours of lecture per week for approximately 5 weeks of the course. The course syllabus will be approved by the department head.
  • Co-Instructor must be accessible by students in office hours that may meet on campus or via
    phone/Skype for 3 hours per week during their instructional period.
  • Co-Instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering all lectures and development and
    grading of homework, projects and examinations.
  • Co-Instructor is responsible for entering grades into the UA online system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Selected candidate will hold a PhD in Civil Engineering or Hydrology,
  • Must have significant hydrology experience, and
  • Must have experience teaching at the university level with preference to having taught this or a similar course.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong educational and work/research experience in recipitation processes.
