The Dental Therapist Senior will assist the dentist in either 2-handed or 4-handed dentistry. The person in this position will also serve as the Dental Treatment Coordinator.
This position will record oral examinations as directed by the dentist to include scribing and placing notes in Dental Clinic Management Software. Other duties include: help with patient flow in the clinic, assist with pre-admission examinations, update patient records and charting, and provide excellent customer service. The Dental Assistant will also: give oral hygiene instructions when applicable, prepare dental materials as indicated for treatment, clean and disinfect operatories, prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments, and maintain inventory.
This position also performs basic administrative procedures including, but not limited to, the maintenance of patient records, and providing treatment plans.
This position is for the Orthodontics Faculty Practice Clinic at Turfland Dentistry. The successful candidate will, occasionally provide backup coverage for Dental Assistants and Dental Therapists at all levels in various dental clinics and locations on and off campus.Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Candidates will have excellent communication and customer service skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, understanding of dental procedure billing, ability to prioritize while representing the Faculty Patient Care Clinic in a professional, courteous manner thorough face-to-face communication, telephone conversation, and written correspondence. Scheduling of patient appointments, computer experience including Microsoft Word and Excel a plus.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :
