Job Summary  

Develop, test, implement and maintain web-based applications as assigned within a campus unit. Troubleshoot website problems and issues and develop solutions and application improvements. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: management and staff within assigned unit and personnel within the Office of Information Technology. This position typically will advise and counsel: management and staff within assigned unit. This position will supervise: NA


Job Duty 1 -
Confer with unit management regarding web application content requirements and status.

Job Duty 2 -
Conduct web based application development and implementation consistent with unit needs.

Job Duty 3 -
Maintain assigned applications providing resolution of issues in a timely manner.

Job Duty 4 -
Respond to specialized needs of the unit relative to its website(s).

Job Duty 5 -
Maintain required documentation related to unit web applications.

Job Duty 6 -
Prepare and present status reports regarding web applications.

Job Duty 7 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications  

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience
Four to six years of job related experience

This job requires working knowledge and skills in configuration and deployment of web applications including database design, web base scripting languages and web standards. Specifically, experience with HTML, CSS, SQL and basic query writing, and experience using an object-oriented programming language are required. Additionally, skills in presentation, customer service and problem solving are required.

Preferred Qualifications  

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using the Outsystems development platform, including both traditional web and reactive web applications
  • 2+ years of professional web or software development
  • Experience in graphic design building modern, responsive user interfaces
  • Experience using JavaScript
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory environment
  • Experience providing PC technical support

Other Information  

Depending on experience, this position's salary will be around $50,000 plus full benefits.

Department Information   The Institute for Electronics and Nanotechnology (IEN) is an Interdisciplinary Research Institute (IRI) at Georgia Tech. IEN enables the research, development, and deployment of electronics, nanotechnology, and nanoscience solutions to challenges of global significance. IEN does this by supporting and connecting those doing basic and applied research in the areas of electronics and nanotechnology, enabling collaboration and interdisciplinary teaming across academic disciplines, and assisting in moving research results into real-world use.
