The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Rheumatology at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) are seeking to recruit an academic Rheumatologist with a position description as Clinician Teacher. The successful candidate must either already hold or be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date is July 1, 2021 or a mutually agreeable date.

The successful candidate will hold an M.D. and FRCPC qualifications (or equivalent specialist designation) with certification in Rheumatology. Applicants must have or be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario. The candidate must also have completed or be currently enrolled in post-residency advanced training in Medical Education. Advanced training in point of care musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound is an asset. The candidate should have a career focused on providing outstanding clinical care for rheumatology patients, excellence in rheumatology teaching at all levels and be proficient in the use of MSK ultrasound for clinical care and in teaching. The successful candidate should be an effective teacher, committed to sustained excellence in teaching and scholarly contributions to teaching and education. In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and demonstrated capacity and aptitude for effective interdisciplinary clinical and scholarly team collaboration and interactions.

Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Compensation will also depend upon the amount of clinical work performed but will be in the usual range for an experienced academic Rheumatologist in the Province of Ontario at a minimum of approximately $250,000 per year.
