Summary of Duties:

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University is seeking a talented Digital Marketing Writer with a range of communication skills, who enjoys writing engaging scientific and health content for broad audiences. This position is located in Pullman, WA.
The Digital Marketing Writer reports to the Communications Director and is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of marketing and communications efforts across the college. This includes writing content for all digital mediums, development and execution of marketing campaigns, and managing digital email blast. This position is an integral part of the college’s communication team to support the colleges various departments and schools.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing or other relevant field AND either two (2) years of professional experience in print OR broadcast news media, public relations, marketing including the use of electronic media or two (2) years of other relevant professional experience.

Additional Requirements:

A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.

Proven record of excellent writing and editing skills.

Understands and can work with all mediums inclusive of digital, print, and multimedia.

Great collaboration skills and ability to understand and simplify complex information.

A demonstrated ability to write engaging content that is both succinct and persuasive.

Ability to work independently to consistently meet deadlines.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Proven ability to manage sometimes competing priorities and excellent attention to detail.

Ability to follow existing procedures but innovate new solutions as the need arises.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in science and technical writing and communicating science to a general audience.

Experience with video shooting and editing.

Basic working knowledge of HTML and content management systems.
