JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Department Head, the Administrative Program Support 2 position for the Educational Leadership Department in the Neag School provides confidential support to maximize the effectiveness of the department by coordinating administrative efforts and providing administrative assistance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working collaboratively with the Dean’s Office personnel, Business Services Center, faculty, professional staff and others, the Administrative Program Support position performs a variety of administrative support tasks to an academic unit to ensure the effective implementation of its programs and/or activities. Acting as the department administrative assistant the duties are established by the Department Head, and in the case of the program-specific administrator, in consultation with the faculty contact for revenue-generating activities. The specific areas of responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, assisting the Department Head, provide fiscal and business support, communications, marketing, and publicity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience including two years’ experience in a responsible administrative support position which demonstrates knowledge of administrative methods.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in finance, marketing or communication.
  • Excellent technology and computer skills including experience with Microsoft programs and PeopleSoft.
