Job Description:Responsible for executing assigned maintenance procedures on complex plant system, troubleshooting system issues, and performing equipment repairs and replacements. Work scope includes performing assignments on various plant equipment including pumps, motors, valves, turbines, engines, chillers, boilers, fans, gearboxes, piping and associated plant auxiliary equipment. This includes identifying problems and troubleshooting, correcting deficiencies, performing maintenance procedures, repairing, and replacing equipment.
Monitor and inspect equipment, maintain logs, and prepare performance reports for equipment and facilities for senior staff, supervisors, and superintendent review. Coordinate with other facility operation departments, outside contractors, and vendors to ensure assigned work is properly documented and scheduled. Begin and complete NCCER Core Curriculum (if not already completed).Planning, leading, and overseeing maintenance procedures involving other team members. Responsibilities include demonstrating proper work procedures, prioritizing assignments, and ensuring work is completed as required. General shop duties to include cleaning, painting equipment, inventory, and facilities upkeep.Perform related duties as assigned including Operate UF vehicle, requires State of Florida Class E vehicle operator (driver) licenseNORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:Schedule may vary depending on location; typically, 7:00AM- 3:30PMTotal hours per week 40Works emergencies/evenings/weekends/holidays as needed; on-call requiredPosition considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF PolicyA Criminal background check and Post-offer health assessment will be conductedA COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire will be providedExpected Salary:$22.50 - $25.50 Hourly
Minimum Requirements:- High school diploma and four (4) years of appropriate experience; appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience - Currently NCCER Certified Plus in trade or pass NCCER knowledge verification. Complete CORE and a trade specific Critical Task Assessment within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications:KNOWLEDGE
