A.T. Still University's College of Graduate Health Studies (ATSU-CGHS) is seeking a Doctor of Health Administration Department Chair. This is a remote position, and the individual will report to the Associate Dean, Academics. The Doctor of Health Administration Department Chair is responsible for providing innovative leadership for the Health Administration programs, developing and implementing program strategic plans, managing the program’s budgets, supervising program faculty, overseeing curriculum development, assessing educational outcomes to ensure ongoing program development, ensuring the advancement of teaching, service, and scholarship, and supporting student recruitment and retention efforts.

Major Job Duties

  1. Interviews, documents scope of instruction, and recommends hiring of faculty 
  2. Supervises and evaluates faculty  
  3. Ensures programmatic compliance with accreditation standards and institutional/departmental policies
  4. Develops strategic plans for the programs with emphasis on program growth, new program development, operational efficiencies, and staffing
  5. Assists with student recruitment and retention
  6. Assesses courses and faculty and student evaluations to make improvements
  7. Mentors students
  8. Participates in teaching, community and university service, and scholarship activities
  9. Develops and monitors program budget
  10. Participates on the CGHS Leadership Team to make managerial decisions
  11. Chairs the Program Curriculum and Admissions committees
  12. Serves on internal and external committees to promote student success
  13. Other duties as assigned.


  1. Lead and mentor faculty members and students
  2. Teach, evaluate, and counsel students
  3. Monitor program budgets
  4. Work with Instructional Designers and Subject Matter Experts to ensure high quality courses
  5. Manage the processes and provide subject matter expertise for course development, editing, or revision
  6. Manage conflict and disciplinary issues related to faculty and students
  7. Conduct faculty performance evaluations
