Position Highlights:

The University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC) is dedicated to preventing and curing cancer. The UACC is the only NCI‐designated comprehensive cancer center in Arizona and its primary responsibility is to conduct research that will lead to the reduction of cancer morbidity and mortality.

The Skin Cancer Institute (SCI) at the UA Cancer Center (UACC) is currently seeking a Program Coordinator, SR. The successful candidate will work with the co-directors and health educators at the SCI in developing and implementing community engagement strategies and community presentations (in-person, virtual) and associated outreach materials to increase awareness of skin cancer prevention in Arizona.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan,coordinate, and implement Community Outreach events and activities for the SkinCancer Institute.
    Implement and deliver community outreach programming on skin cancer preventionto organizations on and off campus, e.g. health fairs.
  • Collaboratewith SCI staff and faculty to develop educational and health materials suitablefor different community populations and organizations.
  • SuperviseProject SASS undergraduate interns and work with graduate student SASS internin implementation of the Project SASS course and the school presentations.
  • Superviseand direct SCI staff, interns, and volunteers in their tasks related tocommunity outreach.
  • Overseethe Protect Your Skin sunscreen station program and rentals of the mobile SCIsunscreen station.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Up to 1 year of relevant work experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

*MPH or similar public health or health education degree or certification. *Prior history of working with skin cancer prevention or other health-related prevention messaging.*Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years relevant work experience.
