Valparaiso University’s College of Engineering is seeking candidates for the position of Mechanical Engineering Laboratory Instructor and Supervisor. This is a non-faculty position responsible for the effective operations and supervision of the Mechanical Engineering Laboratories, primarily the Manufacturing Laboratory. Responsibilities include:

  • Teach laboratory sections in the mechanical engineering curriculum
  • Setup laboratories
  • Purchase laboratory supplies and equipment
  • Oversee the installation of new equipment and maintain existing equipment
  • Assist with student and faculty projects

Knowledge and Skills:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Ability to instruct students in CAD, CAM (preferred), and laboratory experiments
  • Ability to assist students and faculty with projects – design and manufacturing
  • Experience using CAD and CAM (preferred) software
  • Experience operating manual and CNC machine tools (preferred)
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot equipment
