Job Summary:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice (APRN) member of the Department of Anesthesiology who practices autonomously and in collaboration with a variety of health providers on an interprofessional team to deliver high-quality, holistic, evidence-based anesthesia and pain care services. The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.

The CRNA demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation. The CRNA contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting, and provides leadership to the organization.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Provide general anesthesia.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree plus one or more years providing general anesthesia to any patient undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and invasive procedures in a Level 1 Trauma Center preferred. MSN/DNP preferred
