Normal Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm (hours will vary during fund drive weeks & some occasional evenings and weekends)

Job Summary: The Annual Giving Coordinator is responsible for creating, administering, and tracking programs that generate annual fund income for the assigned Division, College, or Department. Duties may include but aren't limited to: annual fund operational duties of direct mail; coordinating telemarketing activities; special projects as assigned; oversee membership and scholarship renewals; oversee major solicitations; updating member records; data retrieval; preparing weekly/monthly tracking reports; marketing and tracking matching gifts; developing and implementing annual fund marketing strategy; maintaining operational budget for academic annual fund unit; soliciting new membership; preparing and making presentations.

Additional Department Summary: The APR Membership Manager provides strategic planning and leadership for fundraising efforts that will successfully seek and increase individual gifts to and awareness of Alabama Public Radio. The position requires an understanding and appreciation of the mission and value of public media and a commitment to staying current with trends and best practices in public media fundraising.

This position is responsible for managing all the fundraising efforts to build overall membership in APR, providing detailed database analysis and strategic leadership of individual gifts. This includes on-air pledge drives, direct mail, telemarketing, email, social media, and online giving. Goals are focused on increasing membership growth, retention, and levels of giving. This position is essential to the success of the revenue goals of APR.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher with at least two years of experience in fundraising, marketing, or public relations.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to analyze data and utilize it for the development of successful strategies and tactics. Highly organized self-starter with strong time management skills and excellent detail orientation. Ability to self-manage as well as take direction as required. Excellent interpersonal skills; must be comfortable interacting with vendors, colleagues and donors in person, on the phone or through email. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. Strong knowledge of Microsoft office suite especially Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to learn and master CRM tools such as SalesForce or Microsoft Dynamics and communication software such as ConstantContact or MailChimp. A working knowledge of Social Media platforms including Facebook and Twitter. Excellent writing and verbal skills. Strong judgment, sense of ethics, integrity and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications: Proven success with direct mail, telemarketing, email and online giving experience highly desired. A passion for public media including public radio and/or public TV. Experience in membership management or annual fundraising for a non-profit is a plus.
