About This Position

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. The Postdoctoral Associate will have a critical role in conducting research for Dr. Enrique Mesri’s lab. The research focus will be in the areas of Molecular mechanisms and targeted therapies related to KSHV oncogenesis, cell and animal models of KSHV carcinogenesis and the role of PDGFR in tumor angiogenesis and the improvement diagnosis of Kaposi's Sarcoma Herpes Virus Infection. We are seeking an individual with exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, technical abilities, high organizational and communication skills, and preferably with experience in immunology, microbiology, virology, and molecular biology.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a basic science discipline. Prefer experience in studies of gene expression regulation, recombinant DNA techniques, gene expression quantification, immunodetection, genetic manipulations in vitro and in vivo and cell imaging. Also prefer a candidate with a published record employing state of the art molecular biology and cellular techniques. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
