We provide students access to internships, internship funding, and connections to employers and alums. We believe in the power of a liberal arts education, and the Director of Coaching and Outreach will design opportunities for engagement so that all students, with a deep commitment to those who have been historically under-served, can pursue purposeful work and meaningful lives.

The director will also form relationships and conduct strategic outreach across the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. An important part of this work will be to create a scalable method to share the content of Hub coaching practice with college departments and units. 1. Coaching: Establish and refine the strategy for implementing the Hub’s career coaching program within the LSA Opportunity Hub and within the college.
  2. Outreach: Design and oversee the liaison process and outreach into the college, with a commitment to working with student groups who engage underrepresented students.
  3. Scale up Coaching: Work with the assistant directors to create and scale a Hub coaching practice that can be communicated and supported by other student-facing offices on campus.

You will:

  • Provide management, coaching, and evaluation for the coaching and outreach team comprised of 10 full-time professional staff
  • Establish and oversee the processes that shape the coaching and outreach team’s role in delivering student-facing services
  • Create a vision for scaling Hub coaching practice and content across the college by working with unit advisors, leaders, and student services staff
  • Design a comprehensive plan for building connections and outreach between the Hub and the college with the purpose of connecting college units and the students they serve to Hub offerings
  • As a member of the strategy team, support the Assistant Dean of Student Engagement and Career Initiatives in the strategic development of the LSA Opportunity Hub

You have:

  • Master’s degree in higher education, counseling or a liberal arts discipline or related area
  • 5 or more years of experience in a career coaching, advising, or direct student services role
  • Demonstrated investment in, and evidence of, working on behalf of students to create equity, equitable access, and inclusive engagement; commitment to furthering the development of antiracist practices.
  • Experience supervising and leading professional staff, including providing behavior-based feedback
  • Designed and implemented creative programming
