POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

The Division of EnrollmentManagement (EM) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UT) invitesapplications and nominations for a Communications Coordinator with EMCommunications. UT is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute inmeaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 150full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments andfunctions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, TransferCenter, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, UniversityRegistrar, EM Communications, and Research & Analytics.

 

We are looking for a passionatecommunicator to join the fun and creative working environment of the EMCommunications Office. The Communications Coordinator will develop andimplement creative solutions for project needs and goals by organizing andleading discovery meetings with Division leaders. They will assess communicationneeds as well as plan, coordinate, and execute integrated marketing andcommunication plans and strategies. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Supportmarketing and communications goals and strategies for the Division and itsdepartments.

·        Plan,coordinate, and execute integrated marketing and communications plans.

·        Developcontent across print and digital channels.

·        Collaborateon the management of communication flows targeted at specificprospective-student, current-student, or influencer audiences.

·        Implementcontent marketing and social media strategies and tactics.

·        Developand implement creative solutions to communication opportunities.

·        Ensurecompliance with University branding and marketing standards.

·        Createand manage multiple project plans and schedules.

·        Providefeedback and insight to management on process improvements.

·        Organize,manage, prioritize, and be accountable for project workflows from creativedevelopment through delivery of materials.

·        Manageand enforce a rigorous approvals process for quality control.

·        Provideprofessional creative writing, text editing, and proof-reading for allcommunication mediums (web, print, social media, email, news releases).

·        Createoriginal content to share and promote the Division and its departments acrossvarious communication mediums.

·        Developmaterials and coordinate the production of digital video recordings and newsreleases.

·        Review,revise, and make corrections to materials prior to publication.

·        Researchand analyze appropriate information and materials to advise departments onaccuracy of information.

·        Buildpositive relationships with division staff,campus partners, students, and faculty;

·        Work with thecentral Office of Communications and Marketing to ensure consistency ofUniversity communications and branding.

·        Serve on University/Division committees.




QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related area.
•Minimum 2+ years of professional experience related to duties and responsibilities.
•Ability to work with diverse constituencies and prioritize multiple work responsibilities in time-sensitive situations.
•Ability to exercise good judgment, handle different situations with confidence and leadership, and be flexible.
•Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at various levels with a variety of backgrounds.
•Knowledge and understanding of one or more production disciplines: print, digital, social, and broadcast (multi-media).
•Knowledge of MAC operating systems, Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills.
•Must have excellent grammar, writing, and proofreading skills.
•Must possess an understanding of marketing and communications practices.
•Must demonstrate creativity, critical thinking, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
•Must demonstrate a personal commitment to excellence and efficiency and a passion to serve future and current Volunteers of all ages in the achievement of their educational goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Master’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related area.
•Foundational knowledge of marketing essentials and communications strategies.
•Experience in higher education.
•Experience with CRM system (Slate) and project management system (Asana).
