To coordinate office operations and provide complex administrative support to the Director and staff of the ACC Compliance Office.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for office management and coordinating of office operations, processing and prioritizing office communication, and coordinating virtual and in-person meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Provides administrative support assisting the Director and staff of the ACC Compliance Office.
  • Identifies and follows through on action items to best align business processes with objectives.
  • Coordinates daily logistics including maintaining calendars, managing district-wide and occasional out of district travel and events, and utilizes ACC software to support the work of the office.
  • Gathers and compiles data, and produces specialized reports and documents. Maintains files, records, logs, and other tracking systems.
  • Receives, reviews, and processes reports of conduct and concerns under the purview of the Compliance Office for students and employees, as well as applicable ACC Administrative Rules, and state and federal laws.
  • Utilizes district software for word processing, data collection, analysis of information and ad-hoc report requests. Reviews and prepares narrative and reports, and maintains records, in accordance with ACC policy and federal and state law,
  • Coordinates and maintains operating budgets. Receives and processes requests for budget expenditures such as travel, equipment purchases, and funds for other activities and events.
  • Provides expertise around Maxient including creating and updating cases in the system, collecting and organizing case evidence into Maxient, and working to advance the department's use of Maxient.
  • Facilitates the work of departmental staff, as needed.
  • KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

    Knowledge of Title VII, Title IX, Title VI, ADA, Clery Act, Drug and Alcohol-Free Schools, and VAWA. Federal and state laws regarding civil rights, discrimination, harassment, and employment law. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. Principles and methods of budget preparation and expenditure control. Records retention, preservation, and recording.
    Office management processes and procedures.
    Higher education organizational culture, policies, and procedures preferred.SkillsMust possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

    Maintaining an established work schedule which may include occasional evenings and weekends. Effectively using interpersonal and communication skills including public speaking, civility, and empathy. Adeptness to interact effectively with diverse populations of students, faculty, staff, and other parties. Compiling and organizing complex material, and summarizing discussions and actions taken in report form.
    Demonstrating an understanding of federal and state laws and ACC Administrative Rules and Procedures, related to discimination and harassment, including Title IX, Title VII, and Title VI.
    Maintaining privacy and confidentiality of work-related information and sensitive materials, using professional judgement.
    Technology Skills

    Database management, including use of a variety of spreadsheets, word processing, and other software including Google and Microsoft suite.

    Required Work Experience

  • Two years of related work experience.
  • Preferred Work Experience

    Paralegal experience or demonstrated knowledge of legal principles.
    Higher education environment.
    Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.

    An Associate degree and four years of related work experience may substitute for this education requirement. Applicants who substitute work experience to meet this education requirement must use additional related work experience to meet the years of "Required Work Experience" for this position. Please note that the college reserves the right to amend these terms of substitution at any time.
  • Preferred Education

    Paralegal certificate in addition to required degree.Other Preferred Qualifications

    Familiarity with Maxient or other CRM.

    Physical Requirements

    Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety

  • ACC Benefits OverviewFull-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

    ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
