To provide high level data/analytic needs by conducting complex technical research and analysis to recommend solutions and information that leads into collegewide decision support systems that support institutional strategic efforts.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs strategic research, analyses, interprets data, and creates reporting formats for requested reports. Develops, manages, and maintains simple to complex queries for data extraction and analysis.
  • Provides data analysis support for institutional reporting, ad hoc studies, and requests for information.
  • Performs technical tasks and provides technical support with particular emphasis on collection, interpretation, reporting, aggregation, and evaluation of data; writes and maintains custom programs to support internal and external reports. Prepares related reports and summaries as needed (i.e., IPEDS, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Accountability System, publications, external surveys, and ad hoc requests).
  • Ensures data quality by providing technical assistance to different offices to implement changes to processes and procedures or to troubleshoot data errors, as required for the completion of state reporting or surveys.
  • Designs and develops statistical reports and analyses for collegewide use. Ensures operational reports are complete and provide accurate data to enable institutional decision-making is efficient and in the best interest of the college.
  • Develops systematic reporting capabilities, documentation, and web-based sites related to institutional effectiveness.
  • Coordinates the development of institutional publications, forms, surveys, and/or quality initiatives. This includes working with other departments as needed.
  • Maintains relevant databases and/or Internet presence as required.
  • Analyze designated enrollment and performance measures/reports including institutional effectiveness metrics.
  • Works with other functional teams collegewide to access and understand data to be analyzed and identify best practice reporting metrics.
  • Provides training and support as required.
  • Reviews team work products, as assigned, to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables and serves as back up to Director, Institutional Reporting.
  • KnowledgeMust possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.Technology Skills

    Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software. Use query and control languages, data extraction and reporting, and network servers.Required Work Experience

  • Two years related work experience.
  • Preferred Work Experience

    Experience with statistical software (such as SAS, STATA, SPSS) or business intelligence tools (DOMO, Power BI, Tableau).Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree.

    Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety

  • ACC Benefits OverviewFull-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

    ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
