Position Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic anthropology instructor who is comfortable teaching cultural and social anthropology and cultural geography. Candidates should be willing to explore innovative approaches to enhance student learning and provide high quality instruction so that each student may meet course expectations. Successful candidates will be responsible for effectively preparing, teaching, grading, and assessing student learning and collaborating with colleagues to improve the student learning experience. Candidates should also be able to utilize a variety of technology-based programs related to student instruction.

This position is for Spring 2021, with the potential to continue teaching in future semesters. All Spring 2021 courses are online. Candidate must be qualified and able to teach these courses fully online.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master’s Degree in Anthropology or 18 graduate hours in the discipline
2. Ability to use technology to enhance student learning and/or experience using learning management systems
3. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
4. Demonstrated interest in the community college mission
5. Commitment to the mission of community colleges
6. Knowledge of information literacy

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience teaching a variety of anthropology courses
2. Teaching experience at the collegiate level
3. Teaching experience at the community college level
4.Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds
5. Graduate work beyond the Master’s
